The Branding Committee was established by the Zionsville Economic Development Commission in September, 2008 as one of their first initiatives.
So as to better market the town in both economic development and tourism programs, it was felt by the Commission a uniform “Brand” be established for the Town of Zionsville. Funding for the Zionsville Branding Project came from the ZEDC marketing fund.
The ZEDC then put together the Branding Committee comprised of residents and business owners from a variety of town organizations – Zionsville Chamber, Greater Zionsville Progress Committee, ZEDC, Zionsville Merchants Association, Town Council, private citizens – as well as representatives from Union and Eagle Townships.
Over this past year, the Branding Committee has held public forums on Zionsville’s perceived image, established an overall image goal then contacted leading marketing and design firms to make presentations of their creative work, their marketing services and experience in public branding and economic development imaging.
Seven firms were interviewed over May/June, 2009 with the Indianapolis design firm of Dean Johnson selected in July, 2009 to create the brand image for Zionsville. You can view samples their work at www.deanjohnson.com
Scott Johnson, President of Dean Johnson, and his creative team have worked closely with the Branding Committee through a series of interviews, discussions and overall direction to come up with the three final designs that the Committee felt best represented their visual goal.
The three final designs are the result of an additional series of modifications and revisions of original logo/theme ideas presented by Dean Johnson to the Branding Committee 8 weeks ago.
While the Branding Committee will make the final decision on the chosen Brand Logo for Zionsville, we welcome your opinions on the three final logos and theme.
